Contest Rules:

• Original Artwork must be black and white with minimal wording
• Entries must be no larger than 8 ½ by 11 and able to be photocopied (please make it dark enough).
• Return design no later than February 14th by giving it to Mrs. Sheaffer, Mrs. Kennedy or by dropping it off in the school office in the designated box.
• Put your Name and Team on the BACK of the design.

Tickets Due Tuesday Morning

Cast Members, Pit Musicians and Stage Crew - 
Your ticket orders are due Tuesday morning - please bring your order forms to the office to have first choice of seats.  Starting on Wednesday, tickets will be available to the public.

Cast and Crew Individual Photo Sessions

TO REHEARSAL ON SATURDAY)

Each year we take "head shots" of our cast for the Cast and Crew Member Photo Wall.  These photos are displayed in the lobby during our performances.  Saturday we will be taking photos of our Stage Crew and Pit Musicians and our photographer would like to photograph as many other cast members as possible.  (She will not be able to get to everyone this week).  Please wear or bring along a black long or short sleeve shirt.

Cast Call for Upcoming Week

Our Snow Day has caused us to change our Full Cast Call on Tuesday, February 12 to a Limited Cast that evening.  We will run from where we left off Thursday (Corn Field Scene) to just before the Poppy Scene.

As we get closer to show time, please know that practice schedules are subject to change, especially in light of the lost time to schools being closed due to weather.  If you cannot make a practice, it is up to you to find out what you missed, including the blocking and choreography.  (If you are of a sports mind, consider that it is like playoff time and games get scheduled as we go along....) Losing last Saturday, February 9th was a huge hit to our rehearsal schedule as well as our production schedule (set, costumes, etc.).  We need to seek everyone's help and cooperation to make this final push as we ready ourselves to put on the best production we can!

• Poppies and Snowflakes.  This is a hauntingly beautiful, yet challenging three-part harmony.  As Mrs. Morrell indicated last week, she wants to see only those cast members who truly want to work hard and perfect this song.  
• Auntie Em, Uncle Henry, Hickory, Hunk, Zeke

Thursday, February 14 - Full cast rehearsal.  Run show.

Saturday, February 16 - GREAT VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL. Tentative Pizza Party make-up date.  We will provide details as soon as possible.  Please plan to rehearse until 4:30pm with our choreographer.  This will be an extremely important rehearsal!

Please wear black tops on Saturday as we will be taking your head shots for our "cast photo wall"!

February 9 cancelled due to weather

Unfortunately we will miss Saturday's practice due to weather predictions.  We have about 10 more rehearsals until the show, so it's tough to miss any day, especially Saturday!  Please catch up on rest and work on your Oz music.  

Tuesday, February 12 - Full cast rehearsal.  All lines must be memorized and all lyrics known by heart - no scripts or music - no exceptions.

Saturday, February 9 - Important!!

For Saturday, February 9th:

This will be a very important rehearsal!!  Our choreographer will be here for an intensive practice.  Our choreographer will be working with us in the afternoon after the party on our big show numbers.  Cast members are asked to stay until 4:30.  If this longer duration is a problem for you, please contact Mrs. Kennedy or Mrs. Day Sheaffer.

Please check this blog for any weather delays on Saturday morning.  In the event of a delay, all cast will arrive at the same time.

• 10:00am:  All Remaining Cast Members (You are welcome to come at 9:00, but we wanted to give you a chance to sleep in!  Please enter quietly as we will be running the show where we left off on Thursday)

• Important Notes
• Don't forget it is Pizza Party Day!  All Medical Emergency Forms must be in! 
• Please bring a small snack for both morning and afternoon breaks.
• You must bring things to do quietly when you are not on stage:  homework, iPod, books, puzzles, soduku, chess, checkers, Holiday thank you notes, Kindles, sewing.  Pack stuff to do Friday night!
• If you cannot be at practice, let us know as soon as possible, as your absence will affect our blocking and choreography.
• Wear comfortable clothes and footware allowing you to dance and move.  No boots, UGGs or shoes with high heels unless you bring a change.
• No Scripts!  Know all song lyrics!

GVMS Musical Cast and Crew Pizza Party

The pizza party lunch for the cast and crew (stage and pit) will be held during the Saturday, February 9th rehearsal.  Pizza will be provided, and we would like to ask each student to please bring in something to share.  If your cast member cannot eat pizza, please provide something for them to eat as it will be a long rehearsal day.

1st letter of last name and item to share:

• A-D:  Please provide individual small cold bottles of water (about 12 bottles)
• E-I:  Please provide dessert 
• J-N:  Please provide snacks (chips/pretzels, etc.)
• O-Z:  Please provide healthy snacks (suggestions – grapes, clementines, little apples, carrots, veggie tray, cheese, etc.)

PLEASE – NO PEANUTS / PEANUT BUTTER!

If you don’t like/want pizza, please feel free to bring your own lunch along.
