Hi Parents of Cast Members!

This is a reminder for the Mandatory Parent Meeting on Saturday, January 12 at 9:00am in the GVMS cafeteria after drop-off.  We will provide coffee and light snacks.  We look forward to meeting you and introducing our new director, Faith Morrell.  Faith will also be meeting with the Costuming and Set Construction committees immediately after the meeting to provide initial vision and direction.

Please review the volunteer opportunities listed below  and decide where your talents or interests lie!  You will learn more about the cast requirements and about the volunteer opportunities at the meeting. To those of you who have already contacted us, thank you.  We would still recommend you attend the parent meeting for other information.  If you have any questions, already know where you'd like to assist or absolutely cannot attend the Saturday meeting, please contact Carrie Kennedy (caskennedyesquire@comcast.net) or Linda Day Sheaffer (daysheaffer@comcast.net) to volunteer.

WE NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS to do a variety of jobs that make the musical happen!  And, it is a wonderful opportunity to get involved with your student's activity.

There are opportunities for everyone – most jobs do not require huge commitments of time, so please consider participating in more than one committee.    We are also looking for volunteers to Chair some of these committees.

Parents of 7th and 8th graders, we trust you will continue your tremendous support with the musical as you have in the past.  Parents of 7th and 6th graders, it is especially important for you to get involved.  Your involvement now will create years of success to come!  We are grateful for everyones creativity, time and dedication as we prepare for this challenging Broadway-version of Oz!

Best Regards,
Carrie and Linda
Parent Co-producers

Here's a Run-Down of our Committees!

Most of these jobs are labor intensive only around the performance dates – it is critical that we get enough volunteers to make the production run smoothly. You don’t need to sew to help in the sewing room (you can cut patterns, pin seams) or be an arts/craft expert to help with props/set (you will be given specific instructions on what to do).  It’s fun and rewarding to be a part of this.  You will be amazed at what goes on behind the scenes!! Don’t miss out!  Thank you!

Photography (need chair):
Lead Photographer for headshots; Committee will produce a CD (like a scrapbook) of the whole musical  “experience” from the photos taken by the photographers.
